The difference between Kundalini Reiki and traditional Reiki is based around the attunements that are used for healing.  Traditional Reiki does not focus on one chakra, but rather, where energy is blocked.  Kundalini Reiki will focus first on the root chakra.  Because of this, there will be different attunements that are used in order to open this chakra. 

Like traditional Reiki, Kundalini Reiki involves different levels of training.  In level one Reiki, you will be able to open up your different channels for energy flow.  You can then strengthen these chakras and energy flows.  From here, you will move to the second  level, where you will learn how to strengthen your energy chakras.  You will then be taught specific meditations in order to help you with channeling the universal energies.  When you move into the Kundalini Reiki Master level, you will open other chakras and focus on advanced universal energy flows.  You will also focus on knowing how to channel the Kundalini fire energy. 

By opening these different flows, Kundalini Reiki can help you to gain higher consciousness and use the energies of the earth in order to learn how to heal on several different levels.  Some who are interested in restructuring DNA will often use Kundalini Reiki as a basis, as it allows you to be able to use your root chakra and earth energies.  This DNA restructuring is said to help those who have genetic problems, such as diseases, to be able to heal through calling on earth energies. 

This type of Reiki is one of several variations that can help with your healing and also allow you to get in tune with the universal energies.  The training is focused on earth energies and related attunements. Through the use of Kundalini Reiki, you will begin to understand how to open the different chakras, and use the root chakra in order to use Earth energies for healing.
