Reiki Training - Levels I and II

What to Expect

If you are interested in healing or becoming a Reiki practitioner, then you will require the necessary levels of training.  At the start of this learning process, there are several things that may occur of which you may be unaware. Whilst the initial Reiki learning process may differ between presenters, there are set guidelines that you can expect when going to both Reiki levels I and II for your training.

Reiki Training Level 1

Reiki Level 1 training teaches you how to heal yourself and others.  Usually, this training is given on an intense day course that begins by teaching you what Reiki is. Here, you will learn the basic definition of Reiki followed by the principles that Reiki uses in training.  You will also learn about the history of Reiki.

Reiki Training level 1 and Level 2 Discussion

Next you will be taught an understanding of the various different chakras, what they are and how you can use them.  You will then progress into meditations, understanding and feeling energy, and learning the four Reiki attunements.  At this point, you will be able to use these attunements to open your own chakras.

Following the initial lectures, you will be taught the practical aspects of Reiki, beginning with the hand positions used when treating yourself, as well as the hand positions used for treating others. You will also discuss the many other different practical aspects of Reiki.  This includes case studies, how to conduct a Reiki healing session, and different exercises that can be used in the practice of Reiki.

You will practice the Reiki treatment on yourself and others during this first level course.  Attendees are also encouraged to use the next month as a cleansing period in order to continue to change and grow as well as practice Reiki.

Reiki Training Level 2

Level 2 Reiki training focuses on opening up additional energy centers.  At this point, a review is given of Reiki 1 treatments.  New attunements and symbols are added to the practice in order to help with opening up the energy centers.  Different healing techniques and healing events will be practiced on the students.  This often includes the practice of distance healing.  This training will conclude with more practical techniques that you can use when practicing Reiki.

Once you have completed these two sessions, you will have learned many different techniques enabling you to practice Reiki on others as well as yourself.  Once you have completed the training course(s) you can begin to use the methods at home and continue to heal and grow from the process.  Each training level is designed to give you methods and uses for healing energies.

If you wish to continue with your Reiki training, the next step is to attend the Master Reiki training sessions where upon completion, you will be given a certificate. This enables you to practice.  However, if you decide to only do levels 1 or 2 of the Reiki method, you will still have plenty of tools that you can use to channel energy and heal.
